Large NYC Apartment Dog, full time job?

pretty much any dog can live in an apartment as long as it gets the right exercise ... if you want a large dog like a german shepherd, it will require more exercise than five minutes before work, a walk after work and fun weekends ... if you are going to leave a dog for 10 hours and expect it to be well behaved, you are going to need to get up at least an hour earlier before work and strenuously exercise the dog ... and when you get home, at least another hour of strenuous exercise ... and by strenuous, i mean the dog is panting from exertion ... the dog should then be walked again before you go to bed ... i have lived in apartments for most of my life and had dogs ... i was also gone 10 hours a day and with the right exercise before and after work they just slept in the apartment while i was gone ... a dog DOES NOT require a backyard ... but if you want a strong, athletic, working dog, you have to put in the time necessary to exercise ... if that is too much exercise you can consider a different breed of dog ...
