Am i prone to getting infections now that i have the marina iud in?

I have had the marina IUD in since august 2010. Since then i have had a period twice a month, mood swings, and hot flashes. I am writing cause i would like to know if i am more prone to having infections now too. Cause my recent pap smear came back abnormal and i have a feeling that it is another infection. I have had an infection shortly after i had the iud put in last year. please if anyone can help thanks.
